“Lucas has decided to devote the rest of his life to what cineastes in the 1970s used to call personal films,” Curtis writes. “In fact, Lucas has always made personal films,” including “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.” Lucas was going through a divorce, “so he dreamed up a villain who reaches into men’s chests and pulls out their hearts.”
